Maybe enjoying the nicest setting of all the Reese Bronzes,
this young lady is positioned in a shady spot beside a pond at the Newark Ohio campus of Ohio State University.
It seems to be a cool day, judging from the sweater draped over her back,
yet not cool enough for socks.
A truly neat thing about this
bronze is that the artist avoided any visual stagnation suggested by a
statute of a studying student.
There is, instead, a great deal of tension and action because she has been roused from concentration on her notes.
Her hand is still poised beside her face, obviously the hand on which her head had been propped,
as she looks across the pond toward whatever had made the sound.
Looking past the yellow pencil she has poised above the page,
a visitor to this bronze could look over her shoulder
and perhaps read exactly what she's working on.
