THE DAY JOHN F. KENNEDY DIED

The day President Kennedy
was assassinated Advocate employees gathered at the AP wire machine in
the mechanical department to read the news as it unfolded, their faces
showing shock and sorrow.
Some names have escaped me,
but I remember the two girls in foreground
worked in the dispatch department - the one in front was Dottie.
The tall fellow at left is
Red, who was a compositor. I think that's
Elsie Howard, classified advertising, next to him. Then Jack Fusner,
advertising director. The lady at right is Betty Stickle, advertising
sales.
